Healing Without Freud or Prozac Healing without Freud or Prozac by Dr David Servan-Schreiber

Here is factual information about natural therapies, written by a doctor and citing studies in respectable scientific journals. This book puts to rest so much of the anti-alternative therapy spin put about by the medical establishment and their pharmaceutical sponsors.

Servan-Schreiber is a founding member of Medecins Sans Frontieres and has delivered medical help in some of the world's worst hotspots. He is a professor of pychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh and co-founder of its Centre for Complementary Medicine.

This book is well written and easy to understand, offering practical examples of the efficacy of these therapies in a variety of situations, including war zones like Kosovo and Kurdistan. As a psychiatrist he knows firsthand the frightening rate of antidepressant drug use in our Western countries and the problems dependency on these drugs is creating - even in children. This book has some answers, some natural solutions to the anxieties and chronic conditions that many in our communities face.

Power Vs Force
Power Vs Force by David R Hawkins MD, Ph.D

This book is a modern classic in the self-help genre and a book that will stretch your brain if you really engage with it. I must admit that before I read this book I was less than impressed with Kinesiology as a discipline, a shining example of my ignorance at the time.

Dr Hawkins applies muscle testing to the whole gamut of human behaviour and he has done this through 30 years of scientific research - the results are staggering. This book and the studies it is based on are truly astounding and provide answers to many of the questions we have about modern life. Calibrating truth is no mean feat and Dr Hawkins provides us with a clear foundation for the direction we can take in our lives toward the greater good and higher consciousness.
